Session Three - Grells Make Great Pincushions

The party exited Jzadirune into Ghelve's back room. There they met Sergeant Zyn Kraghammer, Dwarven member of the town guard.

He asked, "Any news on those poor children?"

He also told them, "I've put a rotating watch on the stairs. No less than three men at any one time. Anything comes up and the boys'll sort them out. Though the young ones are a bit scared, they'll soon come round mind once 'em seen a bit'a'action."

Not to mention, "Those Storm Blades came by earlier, offering their 'elp with the kidnappings. I turned 'em away, don't much care for those toffs playing their glory games."

A message arrived about adventurer badges via Urchin Mail.

Leaving Ghelve's locks the party decided to visit Owen's Stepfather Vortimax Weer, there Owen discovered to his obvious joy that his mother is pregnant.

Iain: "Why don't you sell him Owyn?" Mark: "What could he possibly want him for?" Iain: "He's a fucking priest for fucks sake, Owyn's a god damned teenage boy! I'm sure they can think of something!"

A quick stop at Zanathors Provisions followed by a brief detour to the Church Of St Cuthbert led the party back to the Drunken Morkoth where they enjoyed lunch and a visit from Jenya.

Jenya brought worries about the missing children and an Elven friend of hers, Lord Vhalantru.

Vhalantru ordered drinks all round, and had a glass of water for himself.

He had the following to say, "Thank you for assisting in the arrest of Keygan Ghelve. The Mayor always welcomes lawful thinking citizens, and the city is short on adventurers right now so everyone will welcome your presence.

"The kidnappings should now have stopped thanks to your good selves, and for that I personally thank you. Once you have finished your mission for St.Cuthbert, perhaps I the city may find some work for you. I have recommended you to Captain Skellerang. Please accept on behalf of the city these 500gp."

With that he finished his water and departed politely.

Private Skylar Krewis also visited, he spoke mainly to Annari and although polite he seemed quite shy. He brought a court summons and a message, "Keygan Ghelve is in jail awaiting trial. He has be charged with aiding and abetting kidnappers. The penalty for which is death by hanging. It'll be a short gallows mind you. Trial date is Wed 10th Sept at noon."

After lunch the party descended into Jzadirune again to continue their hunt for the missing children.

Upon entering they were attacked by four Hobgoblins. They defeated them promtly, Kellen dispatching two together in one single fluid movement of his blade. Owyn took a little damage.

Moving back to where they left off they moved north into a room that contained something covered by a sheet. Inquisitive Owyn whipped the sheet off and underneath was a Pulveriser Automaton, it sat there doing nothing, until Owyn decided to tidily put the sheet back and it rumbled into life. Bran noticed that there was raised lettering in Gnomish, he got close enough to read that it was the Gnomish for Activate and Deactive, shouting out Deactive stopped the machine.

A skulk tunnel led to the next room, a large factory with two balconys, A Grell attacked. Anari did some serious damage with an incredibly accurate bow shot. Owyn was paralysed and carried aloft. The rest of the part soon made short work of the Grell before it was able to do too much damage to Owyn.
