30th October
Outside the Lucky Monkey
- We observed:
- Sounds of destruction coming from inside
- Broken windows
- Blood on the outer walls and the ground
- Churned up dirt
- Signs of fighting
- Signs of dragged bodies
- We check out the stables
Stables
- Find them empty
- Stow the horses and make sure they are secure
- move back out to the Lucky Monkey
Outside the Lucky Monkey
- We consider the floor plan and decide on our entry point.
- Owyn pointing out that if we want to get to the basement then the big room at the back has access to it directly and reduces the movement though the Lucky Monkey
- Move around to the back of the Lucky Monkey and into postion.
- Owyn carefully opens both sets of shutters enough to allow use to see into the room, as they are on an angle we get a good field of vision and are able to see:
- Half-baboon/Half-Orc werebaboon sitting at the table counting coins and inspecting artifacts
- Bran prepares to cast hold person
- Cass charges Jazz up with shocking grasp
- Cass then prepares to cast web just in case the hold fails
- Owyn picks the locks to the kitchen
- Anari see movement in the shadows and then three baboons come into view
- Bran casts the hold spell (round 1)
- The creatures are freezes in air, halted
- Bran bursts into a song to inspire his comrades and opens the door to the kitchen
Kitchen
- Owyn charges in and attacks the immobile creature
- Some how he manages to miss
- Kellen moves into the room and attacks a baboon
- Jazz swoops in and shocks the warebaboon
- Smell of burning fur
- Fur crackles with the after effects of the the shock
- Hair stands on end and smoks slightly near the attacked area
- Cass fires her sling at the creature
- The blow is true and vicious, smashing into the corner of the right eye
- Causes the eye to be forced out of the socket
- Anari launches a spring attack on a baboon
- As she jumps over it her sword flshes out and causes a grevious wound
- The warebaboon breaks free of my hold and roars in both pain and rage
- Anari gets attacked by the baboon she just attacked
- A baboon tries to bite Kellen
- It's teeth scrape of the armoured arm with no ill efect to Kellen
- The third baboon attacks Kellen
- This time it's teeth sink into the less protected underside of the upper arm
- Bran tres to use hold person on the creature again (round 2)
- Bran charges the baboon nearest Anari and swings his sword
- The baboon's head leaves it's body with a spray of hot blood
- Owyn again fails to hit the warebaboon again
- Kellen attacks the baboon that bit him
- He hits it
- The baboon doesn't seem to have realised it should be dead with the wound it just received
- Cass attacks the third baboon with her sickle
- She causes a minor wound to open
- Jazz bites and claws at the warebaboon, worrying his dangling eye
- This really annoys the creature
- Anari moves in and attacks the creature
- Her strike opens up a vicious wound
- The creature starts to rage
- Draws his falchion
- Attacks Jazz
- Misses Jazz
- Cass shouts that attacking Jazz is not allowed and it isn't right
- The severely wounded baboon attacks Kellen
- blinded by pain it misses
- The other baboon attacks Cass
- Bran holds the creature again (round 3)
- Bran is held out of the frey due to the generel melee in the kitchen
- Instead he readies himself to attack a creature at the earliest opportunity
- Owyn stikes the now completely vunerable creature
- blade flashes into the creature and actually pulls out an internal organ
- Owyn hold the blade aloft infront of the creature
- Kellen hits the baboon
- Puts it out of it's misery
- Kellen hits the final baboon
- Causes a serious injury - removes and arm
- Cass prepares Jazz with shocking grasp again
- Anari hits the creature
- It collapses to the floor unconcious
- Bran attacks the last baboon
- It slumps to the floor dead.
- Coming down the stairs are 4 people:
- 1 standard looking Cauldron citizen of the thug variety
- 3 hill folk
- all seem drunk
- Bran gets attacked by the Cauldron citizen
- Bran then gets attacked by each of the hill folk
- all but one miss
- the woman lands a minor blow upon Bran
- Owyn removes the creatures head
- holds the head up
- shouts "St. Cuthbert is avenged"
- Kellen attacks a hill folk man
- Opens up a greivous wound, blood pours out of the man
- Jazz shocking grasps the Cauldron thug
- blows him apart, limbs everywhere
- Bran attacks the other hill folk man
- The hill folk woman attacks Bran
- Bran staggers from the blow and the vicious wound
- Kellen swings and hits the hill folk woman
- His sword cleaves through her body cutting her in two
- Kellen then reverses the swing into the last severly wounded hill folk man
- The blow was a mercy, killing the man instantly
- Anari sulks that she didn't kill enough people
- Bran heals Kellen
- Bran heals himself
- No other injuries are present
- On the table there is a stack of loot in leather sacks:
- 2680 pennies
- 1953 shillings
- 752 pounds
- 18 pp
- There is also assorted artwork and artifcats which Owyn estimates to be worth around 4,500 pounds
- On the wall, mounted is a grisly trophy of the creature
- Sarcem's head
- Bran takes it down carefully, noting with revulsion it looks like the toungue was bitten out
- The head is placed in a sack carefully to be taken back to the Curch Of St Cuthbert
- The head of the creature now named tounge eater by Owyn is also placed, less carefully, in a sack.
- We look with trepidiation of what we will find to the door leading down to the basement
