1.8.0.1677 | Bran Lannister is a Half Elf Bard. Appearance
Bran is 6' 1" tall and of slightly larger than average build. He has short brown hair and intense green eyes. Bran has unusual pupils that seem slightly elongated. Facially he looks younger than his 26 years and his eyes sometimes have a haunted far away look. His features are finer than humans showing his mixed human, elven parentage. His hair is light brown and worn short leaving his ears visible. They are more pointed than a humans ears but not as pronounced as pure elven ears. He is wearing hard-wearing clothes of linen and wool; leather boots that are scuffed and well worn come up three-quarters the height of his shin. His tunic is green, trousers are brown, his travailing clock is a mid-grey and his under shirt is white. A backpack is never further than an arms reach away. BackgroundBran was born in the City Of Cauldron on a warm autumn evening 26 years ago to Ana and Ligron Lannister. He has one sibling, a sister, Anari, six years his younger. Life was good for the Lannisters with Ana teaching at a Bluecrater Academy and Ligron having a very lucrative ferry service on Crater Lake carrying nobles and tradesmen across the wide expanse of water. They lived on Lava Avenue South-West. During Bran's 12th summer he was waiting for his father at a his ferry dock, when his failed to arrive on schedule Bran waited and waited but his father's boat never appeared. The next day a search party found the City Banner than Ligron always flew from the back of his boat, floating in the lake. After three more days of searching nothing more of the boat was found, it was at this time Bran had to be forcibly removed from the dockside, grief stricken, shocked and still clutching the City Banner. During the following years his family suffered greatly. With the loss of her husband Ana found it hard to deal with her grief, as well as the grief that Bran felt, while trying to maintain a position at the Bluecrater Academy and keeping the family home. Two years later, after losing her position at the Bluecrater Academy and the housing that went with it, Ana was forced to seek alternative employment and also provide accommodation for her and the children. She found work as a Barmaid at the very popular and busy tavern the Drunken Morkoth Inn, a sadly ironic name as Bran believes that The Morkoth is responsible for his fathers disappearance. Both Bran and Anari were educated by Ana as they no longer had access to the free schooling provided to Bluecrater Academy staff's children. Despite the set backs to her family Ana was able to educate both of her children well, although he would have rather not had the help of the patrons of the Drunken Morkoth Inn quite so much. Bran developed into a free spirited young man who loved hearing stories that would take him away from Cauldron and the horrors he still firmly believed that lurked within the city and the under the surface of the lake. The visiting Bards filled Bran's head with many stories, songs and poems, in the eyes of Ana broadening his education a little wider than she approved of. He was introduced to and tutored in music, and he excelled in the playing of the flute. On his 18th Birthday Ana presented him with a flute his father used to play, this has become one of Bran's most treasured possessions. Bran was continually haunted by dreams of his father and the Morkoth, this drove him to seek help outside of his family and the traverns. Without realising it, he stumbled into the temple of St Cuthbert one day. There he found some answers and a little peace of mind for the first time in six years. Bran was initially a very fervant visitor to the temple but more recently his visits have tailed off although he strongly believes in St Cuthbert. Bran met one of his closest friends during his visits to the Church Of St Cuthbert a young human Cleric called Ord Martell, the two are firm friends and confidants. Another of Bran's fiends is Tyron Stark one of the regulars in the Drunken Morkoth and casual employee. Tyron is called on to help amicably settle disputes between patrons before the Town Guard have to be called. On more than one occasion Tyron has helped Bran out of scrapes in the street with people either looking for trouble or disputing the story of Ligron and his disapperance. Ana is not keen on the friendship with Tyron as she feels he could pull Bran into trouble one day rather than help him out of it. To Ana's horror and concern Bran started to play in other taverns for money and also telling stories, although he had become wary of telling stories relating to the Morkoth as these often caused problems with the audience. Bran is also not totally unknown to the Town Guard and has been warned several times for a few scuffles he has been involved in. The scuffles were all minor and usually related in some way to him being ridiculed over his belief in the Morkoth. The Town Guard have never gone further than a warning as Bran is usually outnumbered, suffers more than the others involved and most of Town Guard know of the ferryman that vanished from the Crater Lake. The Lannisters are popular within the Drunken Morkoth Inn and it's circle of patrons. Ana is also still in contact with a few of the children, now adults, that she taught in the Bluecrater Academy. Bran is aways looking out for new stories about the Morkoth, looking for scraps of information that will finally vindicate his belief that it was responsible for his father's death. More than anything Bran wants his family to be able for to move out of their small staff room at Drunken Morkoth Inn and away from Cauldron. He dimly remembers his previous life in a nice house, although the age of the memories have softened the images dramatically. Cauldron will never be a happy place for Bran with the Crater Lake being a constant reminder that his father died there and no one seems to care. Bran believes it is only a matter of time before the situation gets worse in Cauldron and people start vanishing in larger numbers. Being an adventurer is a means to an end for Bran, he has seen the money that these people can make and the stories they can tell. Just one big adventure would enable him and his family to move out of the City Of Cauldron and get on with their lives. With this in mind Bran set out for Sasserine two and half months ago. Bran has planned to return to Cauldron for the Flood Festival though as a Bard can make a fair living over the course of the festivities. PersonalityBran loves stories and music, both hearing and performing them. He has a certain way of walking and aura about him that produces a very confident individual. Happy with his own company, Bran also enjoys the crowds and noise of a city tavern. He is fiercely protective of his family and his father's name. He is also proud of his mixed heritage seeing it as a very positive aspect. Bran will fight for his family and close friends without question. Stories of the Morkoth instantly attract the attention of Bran. He reacts badly to jokes about the Morkoth, he believes the creature exists and is responsible for the death of his father. Bran has been in more that one fight over the validity of his beliefs. One of his greatest desires in life is to reveal the Morkoth to everyone and be party to it's destruction. The death of his father Ligron Lannister has had a profound effect on Bran. His piercing green eyes often look haunted and sometimes stare thoughtfully into the distance. He is deeply suspicious of people and their motives and take compliments with difficulty. New environments bring out Bran's very cautious and wary side. Bran follows St Cuthbert, he finds the philospophy of revenge and retribution very appealing. While Bran might not be the most honest of person he doesn't stand by and condone injustic or cruelty. He believes in honour although it is a slightly twisted version to suit Bran's personal view of the world. He dislikes cruelty and injustice, he cannot understand laws to make the lives of those living under them harder. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
